What's inside
6 full practice tests
Every part of the exam, timed like the real one: Ascolto, Lettura e riflessione grammaticale, Produzione scritta and Produzione orale.
42 listening tracks
Station announcements, voicemails, radio and dialogues at offices and shops. Each track is read twice, as in the exam.
Answers explained
Every answer comes with a short explanation in English, quoting the words in the text that give it away.
Model emails and speaking help
Two model emails per test (80–120 words), a model self-introduction and useful phrases for each speaking topic.
Self-scoring rubrics
Score your email and your speaking out of 12 with the same criteria examiners use: effectiveness, register, grammar, vocabulary.
6-week study plan
45–60 minutes a day, one practice test a week, with listening, reading, writing and speaking days.
The exam format we practise
| Part | What you do | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Ascolto | 6 short texts with multiple choice, then a longer text: is each piece of information there or not? | about 30 min |
| Lettura e riflessione grammaticale | True/false on a text, then a 6-gap grammar cloze | 40 min |
| Produzione scritta | One practical email of 80–120 words (choose 1 of 2) | 40 min |
| Produzione orale | Introduce yourself, then a short conversation on a topic you choose | about 10 min |
Each part is scored out of 12. Format checked against the exam body's public pages on 7 October 2026; formats can change, so check with your exam centre.
Who it's for

Do you need the certificate? It depends on your citizenship route and your situation. Please check with your consulate, prefettura or a qualified adviser before booking an exam. We can't advise on your case.
Questions
Is this the official exam?
No. These are original practice tests written by Maestro Italiano in the format of the CILS B1 Cittadinanza exam. We are not affiliated with the Università per Stranieri di Siena, CILS, CELI or any exam body, and nothing here is taken from past papers.
Will it help with CELI, PLIDA or Cert.IT?
The skills are the same at B1 (listening, reading, writing, speaking), so the practice helps, but the task types and timings follow CILS B1 Cittadinanza. Check your exam's own format too.
